Question Robinson Arms XCR-M as a Precision gun?

Hey I have been in the market for a good Hunting/Defense/SHTF/AllOutWar/LongRangePlinking/Precision Rifle AKA: an Everything gun. I want something Semi-Auto, that has the potential with optics and practice to reach out to 800+ Yds (I'd love to hit the 1000 mark someday.. but not really a requirement of my initial purchase)

I'd also like this weapon to be light enough to pack around and short enough to corner well and carry in a vehicle as it will be my go to gun for pretty much any Really Bad Day I might have. I'd prefer it have a folding stock (no buffer tube inside the stock) but don't really like the magazines used by the FN17s as I've heard they are spendy and hard to find.

Which brings me to the Robinson Arms XCR-M 7.62X51mm, It has a Monolithic Upper with plenty of rail space, It is available in either light or heavy contour barrels of a couple different lengths (I'm thinking my choice would be 18.6" or 20" Heavy) it has a folding stock, it utilizes SR25 style magazines (20lr PMAG ) and it still maintains a reasonable carry weight. All that is Good..

Now For the Hard part.. Does anyone have any experience with this system or any ideas as to possible accuracy that could be achieved with it. it has a quick change barrel option so I may look at having a longer precision barrel made for it to reach that mythical 1000 yds later in life. but for now I'm just looking for something out of the box capable of accurate shooting to 800yds Sorry for the wordy post but I wanted to get some of my quirky requirements out there as they rule out some of the more popular options such as LWRC, DPMS, LMT, and some others I'm forgetting.

Hmmm...didn't know the updated the design. I'm going to buy a semi-auto .308 in the next year and a half, I'm going to have to keep my eye on this. That is a pretty damn nice looking XCR-M with an 18.6 in barrel in FDE. The couple of forum reviews I saw had it shooting somewhere between .75 and .9 inches at 100 yards with a 1/10 twist using 168gr HPBT type rounds.

my plan is that whatever I decide for a long gun I will down the road purchase it's pistol twin in 7.62X39mm if I feel the need for something a little better suited to a defensive role. ultimately though I own several handguns and had to sell all my centerfire rifles for gas money during a financial situation (layed off) last year. so I'm mostly just wanting something than can reach out a bit farther than my .45 or .22lr
