.22lr distance?

just in general, what would be the maximum distance you could shoot accurately when target shooting with a rifle?

for example could you shoot a standard ruger 10/22 out to 200 yds? and get say a 6" group or better? with a scope?

I haven't lurked in the hide in forever... never a member, but enjoyed alot of the threads.

Wasn't there one there where a guy done some penetration testing on turkeys or something with their .22LR? Seems like he backed out to 300 yrds punching thru a turkey, a couple shirts, and a jacket or something like that.

The scope I put on mine has compensations for out to 150 yards, but I haven't had a chance to put them to the test yet to see if they are correct.

You can certainly shoot the 22LR at extended ranges, but drop becomes a huge issue. Your average 22 zeroed at 50 yards will drop about 4 1/2" feet at 200 yards.

Well, i know that they will kill a gopher at 311 yards. It took a few shots but finally it connected.
