Bipod Recommendation
Okay Guys need some input, have a Savage 10.308 that sported a Harris BRM-S 6"9" bipod, well I moved it over to my Scout Squad and now I need a bipod for the Savage that sits in a Choate Stock, the rifle weighs in at approx 11-12# and I am leaning towards either GG&G or Atlas I really like the Atlas as it seems to be built like a tank but the GG&G also has some nice features not as many as the Atlas but still pretty nice.
Another board member on another Forum helped me out on some issues with my Scout Squad and he sports a GG&G but not the XDS 2 that I am looking at, I called GG&G and 2 seperate people recommended 2 seperate bipods one said the XDS 2 was not beefy enough and the other said it would be fine I cannot seem to find much bad press on either.
I can find the GG&G fairly easily but the Atlas ones are hit and miss due to Military contracts
Here are the two I am looking at, they are not cheap but I figure buy once cry once.

Were you finding the Harris bi-pod insufficient or are you looking to simply upgrade?
Just wondering as my 10 FCP HS-Precsion weighs in at a bit over 11 pounds and I've been very satisfied with my Harris.

Just looking for an upgrade and the Atlas and GG&G have always looked well designed and super rugged, plus I put the Harris I have on my M1A Scout and it got painted along with everything else so now I am short one.

I really like the way the atlas looks, but I found it really hard to aquire one, so I figured I would just wait and bide my time. Then I met a buddy to go shooting and saw his XDS GG&G and was really impressed. I'm going with the GG&G but from what I read both are top of the line with the atlas costing a little more coin. Dont think you can go wrong either way. Good luck, and happy shooting

Panther308-
Can I ask how the bipod dilemma turned out? I'm in your situation right now and can't seem to decide which way to go. I have a Savage 10LE (.308 ) with HS Precision stock and just installed a Seekins Precision SRS rail.
Now I'm looking at the Atlas and GG&G bipods to compliment it but like them both. I have Harris bipods on other rifles but want to upgrade on this one due to the rifles capability.
Thanks in advance if you can help!
Matt

Just bought an Atlas...ordered it Saturday, got it today...waiting on the rail so I can mount it. it looks like an awesome bi-pod, and all the reviews I've heard have been exemplary.

That's the way I'm leaning. The gg&g is nice but I think the simplicity of the Atlas will be appreciated the more I start playing with positions and scopes. I like the cant and swivel on the atlas also but who knows when my tax return shows up what mood I'll be in, may want to save the extra $50.
