Changeing parralax effects zero???

I was at the range with my savage .223 with a burris tach 6.5-20x50. I had it zeroed at 100 yd at 20x and the parralax set at 150. I then zoomed out to 10 x sense thats what i usualy shoot at. I the decided to move the parralax at 100 instead of 150 sense i was shootin at 100. It then started hitting 1-2 in hight and to the right. Can zooming and adjusting parralax effect the zero like that. Thanks for the input.

They shouldn't on a high quality scope, but adjusting the power has been known to effect the zero on cheap scopes. I'd have thought it wouldn't be an issue with a Burris though. Moving the parralax could certainly effect where you're grouping. If you zero the rifle with a setting with some parralax, the way you're holding your head could affect where the rounds hit.

here is a description of what parallax is
Parallax in Rifle Scopes

They make parallax adjustable because when it is off, accuracy can suffer if things aren't perfectly lined up. since you adjust the scope to account for drop and errors in scope mounting, it is almost never perfectly lined up. this is the same effect that causes a passengers view of the speedometer to be inaccurate in a car.
