Decent scope on a budget?!?
Does this white whale exist? Can you find a decent scope while on a budget?!?
I was just given an old Enfield no.4 mk 1 and unfortunately it was sporterized and the barrel was cut so restoring it to its original beauty isnt feasible....so instead im planning on throwing a scope and possibly a bipod on it. The problem is that since the rifle is only worth about 200 bucks, probably just 100-150 in its current state, I can't justify putting a 200-500 dollar scope on it.....I've researched scopes and found some konus and nikko sterlings that i like but id like some opinions on their quality....ALSO if anyone has any other suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!

Hard to beat SWFA Super Sniper scopes. They were used by the military for a while and are supposed to compete with 1k+ scopes. I got mine for 399. Its a fixed 10x but it is a nice scope. They have others as well. When I was doing my research, I could not find a bad word about them. SWFA also has a sample section of trade in/Demo scopes. I got a Leupold MK4 MR/T 1.5-5 off the sample list for 699. At the time they were going from 9 to 1100. It was in brand new condition. Great people to deal with.
I have this one on my Mauser
SWFA SS 10x42 Tactical 30mm Riflescope
Here is their sample list
Quality optics and accessories from Leupold, Bushnell, Burris, Nikon and more!

Just ordered a Millet TRS-1 4-16x50 today for $286 and burris Xtreme tactical 30mm med rings for $49. If you get the scope only it comes out to around $303 that includes the $16ish S&H to texas.

Nikon Prostaff is a good scope, I got one on sale from Midway for $99. I like it, but it doesn't compare to my Bushnell Elite.
