Scope Mounting for Savage 111

Hey guys,
I have a nikon monarch scope for my savage, and I found out that i need new bases because the ones i have on it right now puts the rings two long and the rings would basically be covering the dial to foucs/zoom. what base would be good for this gun scope combo? do i need a one piece base or can i still use two piece?

thanks

No one? this would really save me time guys just because the nearest gun store for me in 45 min away. So i do not want to get the wrong thing and have to drive al the way back to get it again. Ive done some research online and i have found some that people say work fine, but they are pretty expensive (above $50) are there cheaper ones that will be good for a .270
