Finally
Well, I did it. It was stupid, but I did it, and now I want one. I shot my friend's Serbu this last weekend, and I had a great time. We range estimated a rock with my friend's .223 (no laser rangefinder with us) and got it at around 600 yards, if the Eotech is accurate. We were shooting some fairly mild .50 rounds. With a 30+ pound rifle, the recoil was still far less than I expected. It didn't hurt that I was shooting slugs through my cut-down H&R 12 gauge with synthetic stocks.
It's too bad I can't afford a rifle, much less ammo to run it. I had a blast. The big .50 is definitely a toy for my uses, but it is a fun toy.
