slapping the bolt around and using some tough lovin' is about par for the course with a mosin. its about the only bolt gun I have seen where you should pretty much expect to fight the bolt.

That happened at Angeles Shooting Range here in CA. I used to shoot my .50 there all the time. I came across a picture of the ammo he was using.I zoomed in and looked at it and made two important observations. 1- a couple of the rounds look like the primers aren't seated completely. 2- I notice a couple of rounds look like there may be a slight bulge at the top of the neck while some look like they have no crimp at all. All .510 DTC are hand loads; it's a wild cat round. If the loader was crimping the rounds and did not have exactly identical brass lengths, it is very easy to over crimp that round making it difficult to chamber. The Lee custom seating dies have an integral crimp. Combine the two- primer not fully seated being pushed by the bolt face, over crimped case fitting tight being slammed into battery? Deadly combo. Just a hypothesis from a guy who's loaded thousands of those rounds and hasn't blown himself up yet.

oldmanfsca you are talking out your you now what I own one as do several others and have never had a problem it is just people like you slamming them without any real first hand knowledge. So I say prove what you are saying or get rid of it. There is a big element of 50 shooters who want it to be exspensive and exclusive. They will attack anything that will change that. It is so clear that hitting an oversize round with a primer sticking out will cause it to go off.

Why don't you show your proof that they were shut down by the government for being unsafe. Considering that they use the same system that several other firearms use why doesn't the government shut them all down as well.
