How much does your AR-15 Weigh?

Using a digital bathroom scale, top to bottom:

Rock River Arms 18" bull barrel Varmint midlength aluminum free float tube with scope and BUIS's - 10.0 lbs

Rock River Arms 16" medium barrel midlength A4 flat top with Magpul CTR stock, back up rear sight, and C-More reflex optic (in co-witness) - 7.5 lbs

Rock River Arms 16" medium barrel midlength A2 with Magpul CTR stock - 7.5 lbs

Stag Arms 2T 16" carbine barrel with folding rear sight, Stag Arms slider stock - 6.5 lbs

Notes: the Magpul CTR stocks are heavier than generic slider stocks. RRA now offers light barreled AR's. The Varmint is a pig to haul around, but very steady. The Stag 2T is like a feather in comparison. The barrel profile is the biggest factor as far as weight, so choose carefully, depending on the intended purpose of the weapon.

You have too many. Please send one (the top one) to me as an pre-emptive move to 'spreading the wealth' in order that it would stay in safe hands.

The shipping weight of the Varmint would cost too much.

Ok. I'll just swing buy and pick it up, save on shipping.

My plain Jane M4gery should weigh around 6 lbs. I'll have to through my 16" heavy barrel on the scale to see, but I'd guess it's about 7.5.

AR-10 16" barrel, flattop upper, Armalite drop in quad rail, Magpul UBR, ATN reddot = 9.1 lbs

Still need to add: front and rear MI flip up BUIS, Tango Down VFG, Raptor Bipod and some glass. When I'm finished I'm expecting it to be around 12 lbs empty.

At some point I'd like to get a limited Armalite 16" SASS barrel (the manufacture of these barrels was apparently a mistake but are highly desirable) and a retrofit gas piston system.
