if you can get them both for the same price, it is a no brainer....the ML3 over the ML2, if nothing else for the battery life. 50,000 vs 10,000.

Aimpoint : AimpointŪ CompML2#20
Features for CompML2
  • Designed for day use, including dusk and dawn
  • CET technology allows up to 10,000 hours of operation one battery
  • Submersible to 25 meters (75ft)
  • Also available with 2X power-fixed attachment

Aimpoint : AimpointŪ CompML3#116
Like the CompM3, the CompML3 features our breakthrough Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology (ACET) that gives the sight unparalleled battery life and ease of use.
Built primarily for use in daylight and in low light conditions for law enforcement and military applications, the CompML3 will hold up under the roughest physical handling and most severe weather conditions. It is the perfect choice for professionals, hunters and sport shooters who don’t need night vision device compatibility but want an extremely tough and reliable sight. For night vision compatibility we recommend the CompM3.

The CompML3 comes with a replaceable outer black rubber cover, which protects it from scratching and adds an additional stealth factor. The outer cover is also available in Dark Earth Brown – perfect camo for use in the desert and in the jungle.

Unique features for CompML3
  • Designed for day use, including dusk and dawn
  • New technology called ACET allows 50,000 hours of operation on one battery
  • Available in 2 dot sizes (2 and 4 MOA)
  • Submersible to 135 feet (45 meters)
  • Outer rubber cover now available in earth brown
  • Comes with replaceable outer black rubber cover
  • Reduced training time and ammunition

better seals I guess, the ML3 advertised able to submerse to 135 ft vs 75 ft for the ML2.

You've got the choice of 2 MOA or 4 MOA with the ML3...all ML2s are 4 MOA.

All else equal I'd get the ML3, and in 2 MOA.

$450 is about the average price new.....350 would be a good buy used.
I'm guessing that price doesn't include a nifty LaRue mount

no it doesn't include the niffty larue mount

Yes I have already posted I'll take it and while I have never backed out of a deal it's never a done deal until the funds are sent

So we have established

The ML3 is a superior optic has better battery life better seals and a rubber cover for added protection

That $350 is a good deal

That I have already commuted to buying it

And that it doesn't come with a mount

Now side if doesn't come with a mount and I'm rapidly going broke what would be the best mount for the money

For my ML2 I am using the aimpoint mount is there a decent mount for under $100

What about the QRP mount I'd it worth the money

Depends on what setup you are looking for.

High or low mount.
Straight up or cantilever.
