Verdict of the Magpul Moe?

I have finally decided to add a stock to my anvil arms lower I built last October. My dang ak bug keeps me from finishing my first ar. Anyways what is the verdict of the moe vs. ctr. Moe comes in at $57 shipped and the ctr at $93 shipped. I would hate to buy the Moe and be dissapointed with how tight it locks up or the lack there of. So those that have had either or both or one or the other please let me know what you think of it. Also who has the best milspec buffer tube and spring?

I have CTRs on my ARs. They're worth the extra money. They lock up tight, with zero movement. If you don't care about that, get the MOE version.

I really dont see the advantage of the MOE over a plain-jane 6-pos. stock...

Not only does the MOE not have a friction lock, it also lacks the QD sling swivel that the CTR has.

I don't like the fact that the friction lever on the CTR isn't a lock of some type. If you depress the lever inside the triangle on the CTR, the friction lever pops loose. When I first saw the CTR, I thought it was a cool idea because it let you set a length and forget about it. it doesn't really do that any more than the MOE, it just removes that last little bit of play. You only have to pull the main lever to change positions on either one.

So the moe is good to go then? I would hate to spend the extra money on the ctr and not get much more out of it. I dont care about any sling swivels or what not. Also what milspec buffer tube from who and why.

there is no advantage other than its appearance its purely cosmetic it gives you that modded without breaking the bank.

other than the friction lock and the QD mount its exactly the same as the CTR
same with the MOE grip its basically the same as the MIAD without the ability to adjust the straps.
either or are good choices

I have not experienced the MOE stock but I really really like the friction lock on the CTR. it makes the stock snug with 0-play, which is a complete +1 for me since I've always been used to fixed wooden stocks with my hunting rifles. If you are comfortable with standard collapsable stocks than the MOE would work for you.

as for the MOE grip, that I do own and have on my M-4gery. when I tested the MIAD I found that the medium backstrap and the lack of fingerbump were the right fit for me, i didnt like the finger bump of the A2 grip or the MIAD front grip. therefore the most comfortable MIAD configuration happened to be the same as the MOE. and it was only 20$.

the MOE grip is like buying the XD while the MIAD is like the XDm, if you dont need to change it then get the less expensive of the two.

as for MOE stock, if you dont mind a little play in the stock save money and get the MOE stock.

*edit* although I kinda would like to have the enhanced trigger guard but that isn't and wasn't a neccesity
