Transfer ownership of a lower receiver

I ordered 2 lower receivers today from AIM. One is for me and the other is for my younger brother who cant order things off the internet. He is old enough to purchase and own a rifle and is paying me to order it for him. The serial number on both will be in my name correct? If so, how should I go about transferring ownership of one of them to him? I live in AZ and there is no gun registry if that means anything.

Maybe your state is different, but you should just be able to give it to him. Meaning physically handing it to him should be all you have to do.

I know that AZ is pretty liberal with gun laws, but should I do anything "just in case?" If it gets stolen from him and someone gets shot, would they come back to me?

Haha, rofl......

Here in CA you have to take it to a gun shop FFL and redo the DROS. They will hold it for the 10 days.

Thousands of guns are sold/given away in private transfers. Most states do not require a paper trail of any kind. If it gets stolen, he will file a police report and that will be that.

Do up a bill of sale that shows the transfer of ownership. Not legally needed, but it shows teh rifle changed hands.

My concern is that this sounds like a straw purchase to me, which is illegal.

What do you mean? If he had a credit card, he would have ordered it. But he is 19 and doesnt want to use a debit card to purchase over the internet. He is legally able and old enough to own a rifle.
