I have wondered the same thing about the flash hider on the S&W and Stag AR models.. Do any of our more knowledgeable AR shooters know the answer?

congats on the new weapon, i have a model 15t and couldnt be happier, if yours shoots anything like mine, you are going to be extremely happy. myself and a few other m&p15 owners are amazed at the accuracy of the weapon. i have yet to put any optics on mine, and am shooting with the flip up iron sights. on an average day i can shoot sub 1" at 100 yards, and i beleave that to be the norm for the s&w m&p 15. enjoy your weapon, and start shooting.

Thanks Mvician! I have been wondering about that. I have been thinking about replacing the stock flash hider on my S&W with a FSC556 but wasn't sure how difficult it would be. AIM Primary Weapons FSC556 .223/5.56 Flash Suppressing Compensator Primary Weapons FSC556 .223/5.56 Flash Suppressing Compensator

So, I could just order the FSC556, unscrew the stock flash hider and screw the new one right on? That would be great.

Theorectically yes, you will more than likely needed either an upper vice block or a barrel vice block. The flash hider requires a bit of torque to get it "timed" correctly and will probably be a bi*ch to get off and then the new one back on and timed correct.
