Question I want an AR but not sure where to start

I am wanting an AR15 now and I'm not sure what to do. I'm not sure if I should just buy one or buy my parts and build it. Will I come out cheaper building it myself or what??

I am wanting one identical to an M4A1 because I have wanted one since I first saw a picture of it.LOL I like the looks of the shorter AR's anyway.

Sooooooooooo....................... If anyone can point me in the right direction to getting my parts or offer me any advice it would be great.

The AR is next on the list of things to get and I'm all out of handgun permits right now.LOL

Thanks in advance.

Get yourself a rifle kit from Del-ton. I've heard great things about their quality. My next gun (first build)will be from them. Go to a local gun shop and see if they have any stripped lowers or, if they don't, can get you one. A stripped lower should be from $100-150.

Del-Ton, Inc. A complete line of AR-15 Rifles, AR 15 Parts and AR15 Accessories.

There are many helpful tutorials to help you put the lower together on AR15.com

Pete at AR15 Sales.com (Legal Transfers) is awesome to deal with and will hold your hand all the way through. This is where I got my first one.

What will you be doing with the rifle? Hunting, target shooting? Off hand or bench rest?

cmmg has some decent kits. There are lots of choices out there I would suggest getting an A3 for the greater optic mounting choices.

I ordered a stag 2ht from riflegear.com it was a few buck than other places but they had it in stock. I ordered the Tactical model because it came with BUIS and FF rails for less than. I could get one with similar specs from delton

Good luck on Your build

Just remember that thread was written for someone who carries an AR as they kick doors down to hunt badguys. For weekend plinking at the range, a sub-$700 AR will do well. Don't get suckered into buying all the high dollar brand name stuff. Some of the people on those AR-15 dedicated forums talk like you're gonna get gunned down by 100 bad guys if you don't spend $100 on a sling connector.
