Towel Lint
OK, I tried cleaning my AR with a shop towel and Rem Oil or CLP but I am having a lot of trouble. It seems the towel is a super lint mobile and has left a ton of gooey strands of lint firmly attached to the flat spots on my AR lower.
What can I do to get rid of it? I bought one of those silicone cloths thinking that would suck the lint up but not really. Maybe I should take the optics off and buy a couple gallons of rem oil to submerge it in? Thanks guys. |

Hi Fish609,
Use an old black T-shirt to wipe it down

Or a black towel. Or, don't worry about it.

I use a gray cloth myself because I like the contrasting look. A nice yellow or orange can be asthetically pleasing for summertime use though.
It doesn't matter as long as there's not a whole lot of it left on it. ARs are tough enough to handle it and a lot more!

I use a soft paint brush to brush off the lint and evenly oil all of the tight spots.
Works great. |
