Looks like a good combo... that mount looks pretty solid.

I've got the Promag mount, and find it to be quite sufficient... I looked at the CAA mount before I purchased the Promag mount, and didn't like small mounting surface, and the even smaller rail holding surface... The Promag mount is very stout.

Because I don't trust a company that make me pay for shipping. I returned it to walmart and got a full reimbursement.

I have in my collection a BSA, Simmon, BEC, Leupold, Super Sniper, Zeiss.

For the lower end price, AR rifle scope I would go with the Super Sniper from SWFA.

http://www.swfa.com/showcategory.aspx?categoryid=231

They are $299 fixed power at 10x/16x/20x and have a 30mm tube. Get one sunshade while you are there. They are tough and the glass is excellent. I have one on my AR-10 and 16x and take 2" groups at 300yds.

+1 for Tasco Super Sniper scopes. For $300 they too are great scope for the money.
