What is the deal?
So I have been mulling over the idea of building an AR for a few months now and had set my sights on a RRA lower. I had set everything up with my dealer and all I had to do was drop 10% to get the order going. Well I called RRA today to confirm the wait time and it changed to 12 months! Who waits 12 months for anything weapon related or someone please tell me that I heard him wrong? And to top it off when I called my dealer to find out about CMMG one of his guys behind the counter tells me that they dont deal with AR or AR parts. DAs at gun shops piss me off! Im fed up with this, I understand that the AWB has people scrambling for parts but why the atrocious wait?
I have looked at just doing a FFL transfer but I would really like to buy through this guy since he has helped me out so much in the past.

why wait for RRA?
there are a ton of other great companies out there, that you dont have to wait for...dont give RRA your $ if you have to wait 12 month's for thier product. look into an LMT defender lower....great quality, good price, no long wait. rainierarms.com LMT complete lower- $355 with single stage trigger, $430 with NM 2 stage trigger

RRA lowers aren't that special to wait a year for.
I'm sure if you did some looking around on the 'net you could find a dealer that has them in stock Talk with your dealer, not one of his DAs working the counter. I'm sure he'd be happy to do a transfer for you. if your hellbent on an RRA lower....my local gun shop has one (maybe 2 in stock)
i could give you the # and you could see if they would be willing to sell it to you over the phone, and then ship it to your FFL? or maybe you can just pay your FFL, then your FFL can purchase it with your $ from my local shop? i dont know how those thing's work.

RRA (Rah Rah) is over hyped IMO
A lower is a lower - I would go for Essential Arms, or Anvil Arms. The upper is where to put the money for the good stuff. |

+1,000! These two are good, plus Superior Arms at aimsurplus.com for $80 shipped, they also have Doublestar, look at Spike's tactical too. I have a spike's and it is good. Plenty to choose from in the lower dept.

NewXDsupporter,
RRA makes good stuff, but nowhere near that good. I like DPMS. Consider the "Sportical" model for around $600 complete - i.e. upper and lower = whole working gun. Here is a link: GunsAmerica - DPMS NEW SPORTICAL CARBINE 223CAL. NEW - DPMS - Panther Arms > Complete Rifle - Guns For Sale & Gun Auctions or MedlockGunRange.com - DPMS Panther™ Sportical™ I am thinking about getting another. Chapie+ |

I bought my Stag rifle kit from AR15 Sales. $633 and I had it in my hands in at or under 1 week. Yeah man, don't wait around. There are PLENTY of great companies out there to buy from.

Thanks for all of the info guys I cant quote everyone so ill just say this.
I have been looking at superior arms but im one who thinks price equates quality (prob not a good practice but its worked out for 24 years so far). But im going to do some more research on superior if they sound good then I might lean that way. The price on superior is low enough that I could buy a few lowers instead of one RRA. Thanks again I was at a point where I just wanted to say screw it and stick to pistols.

CMMG parts you want?
Fire For Effect has kits made by CMMG. Parts Kits - FFE Uppers on unassembled, costs an extra $50 for the assembled and test fired upper. AIM Surplus has CMMG lowers. AIM AR15 Lower Receivers AR15 Lower Receivers You can order the stuff and have an all CMMG rifle by next week.
