There are 2 different sizes of carbine buffer tubes, milspec and commercial.

IIRC the milspec tube is actually smaller outside diameter.

Sounds like you have a plate for a milspec plate and are trying to install a commercial tube.

Personally, once you find out which tube you have, I'd order one of the plates with the single point sling attachments on it.

The threaded portion that the retainer plate slides over is the same diameter on commercial and mil-spec tubes. The portion that the stock slides over is different.

I beg to differ, i asked essential arms for the commercial one and the one i received wont slide on over the threads. I was scraping my buffer tube to get it on and ended up bending the plate to get it off. . . I WANT MY GUN TO BE 100% FINISHED!

I have only ever seen one size, because one size is supposed to fit all. The threads are the same on Mil-spec and commercial reciever extensions. If they weren't, how could one replace the other ?

Single Point Sling RH Hook Mount - Rear

CQD Sling Mount - Rear

Daniel Defense CAR Burnsed Loop

See? One size fits all.

Well I beg to differ........and I think I know wtf I'm talking about

So by your reasoning, there would also be commercial size and mil-spec size lower receivers.
But there is not....the threads are the same size

I too have had plates that were a bit tight to easily slide over the threaded portion of the receiver extension (tube). Gee what did I do ?
Opened it up with a file, it took a couple of minutes and test fittings, then I spray painted it flat black. Once it is done and on there you will not see a difference. Shipping is gonna cost you more than it is worth.

As with anything "some fitting may be required".

Also how the heck did you bend it taking it off the "tube"....
Hope you didn't booger up the threads.

But as they say......it is your rifle, do with it as you see fit.

Sorry to sound so "harsh", but come on, you're talking about a piece of stamped metal, take a file to it.
