Source for 9mm AR Upper???
So, while I was away at the NRA meetings in Louisville, the wonderful state legislation in MO seems to have sent a bill to the govenor that will let me finally get a suppressor. Seeing as how I already have an SBR, it's pretty much my duty to get a 9mm upper. Where can I get a 9mm upper with a 5" (or so) barrel? I'd love a 3-lug barrel, but can't find one of those. Anyone have any experience with suppressed AR-15s in 9mm???

Have you checked out CMMG? I'm not sure they have the size barrel you want, but they seem to have everything else.

Model 1 seems to have a 7" barrel upper, that's a possibility. CMMG doesn't have anything close to what I'm looking for. Thanks for the leads!

Welcome to Model 1 Sales' Online Order Center
Now the real question is.... Where to get the magwell adapter, what kind of magwell adapter to get and where can you find mags for that magwell adapter? Oh... don't forget the 9mm hammer. Also, you can send your 7.5" 9mm barrel to ADCO ( Adco Firearms LLC ) and they'll cut and thread the barrel. Make sure the barrel is threaded for the exact same thing as your can. Also, buy an extended barrel for your XD 9 (assuming you have one) and have it threaded for the same thing. Hardwarz

Negative on the Mdl 1 Sales for the 9mm bolt carrier, they didn't have it. My buddy was looking for one. Ended up getting it from M&A out of Illinois. Not a great price, but they had it.

Rock River has them for about $175, carrier and bolt.
Being direct blowback, I'm guessing the front sight base/gas block isn't a requirement? I'l love someone to ocnfirm this in case I build an upper myself.

There's no gas tube, so having a gas block would serve no purpose. They probably still use front sight bases because it's the most common front sight, but I doubt the barrels are drilled for the gas block.
