Hey! Watch where you stick that wedgie!!

Based on what my older, more experienced brother told me, I bought an accu-wedge to drop in my AR. I understand where it goes but it seems too thick. I can't close the AR all of the way to insert the pin. Do I need to trim it off a little or am I doing something wrong? Any experienced AR guys out there with some input?

Thanks

Okay I found some responses related to this on Enos, in case anyone is interested.

"Use an Accu-Wedge. The JP pin is better for precision rifle applications. Accu-wedge is cheaper too. Depending on which lower you have it may be either a high-shelf or low-shelf. Accu-Wedges drop in low shelf lowers. High-shelf lowers require trimming the bottom of the Accu-wedge to fit."

What does it do, just make things fit together more tightly?

Reduces any rattle if your upper is a little loose, and yes makes it tight. Althought my new wedge is TOO tight so I have to trim it down.

FYI you guys, on my Stag I had to trim the CRAP out of that wedge, but it is a nice snug fit now. Can't wait to shoot it again. Oh, wait, need more ammo, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
