CMMG Lower - What Options?
AR Newb. I want to get a CMMG lower but don't know which options are best.
Pistol Grip? not familiar with all their options, no pics on website. Trigger upgrade? None? JP? Two-stage? Gapper, no gapper? Accuwedge? KNS pins? KNS swivel? Buffer? H, H2, H3, Tungston? KNS auto sear pin? (only with buffer tube option?) Lots of options for stocks too. |

When I ordered my complete lower from CMMG I kept the standard grip-can easily be changed later if you find something you like better
standard trigger - Should do just fine. Can upgrade that if I like Gapper yes Accuwedge yes No KNS pin Or Swivel Standard Buffer - IMO not needed in a Semi-Auto but just IMO Adjustibale stock - I dont remember what one, might have been the default

Accuwedge = snake oil
It doesn't do ****. Gapper is a nice thing to have if using the stock grip. Some aftermarket grips fill in the gap so the gapper is not needed. I have to say the RRA 2-stage trigger is a nice upgrade. You can install that after the fact if you'd like, probably at a better price from Legal Transfers. |

- Gapper is good to have but is $6.00 anywhere
- Standard buffer assembly (comes with a lot of adjustable buttstock kits) - KNS pins are $30 anywhere for the Generation II - Single stage trigger kit is good enough for SHTF type rifle use

I got my CMMG lower from AIM Surplus along with the lower kit. I'm going with an ERGO grip later.

Went ahead and ordered the stripped lower from AIM, but got the lower internal kit from CMMG since I wanted the ambi safety option.
