More AR noob cleaning questions

1. How do you clean in here without taking the trigger assembly out?

2. After scrubbing with a stiff nylon brush, this still had some crud right at the part where that neck widens just above the rings. Is that ok or do I need to keep scrubbing till it's smooth and shiny?

3. I brushed the inside of this with a toothbrush and Hoppes but it still has this grey haze. Is that ok or do I need to keep scrubbing this one too?

4. Where does the chamber brush go? I pushed it into barrel from the end where the bolt carrier group go but it was a really snug fit. I had to use both hands to pull it out. Is that normal?

Thanks.

1) you don't really need to clean or lube that area much. If the build up is excessive just use brake cleaner and an air hose, or just break cleaner. Then once it's dries, re-lube.

2) Normal and will not affect function. If it does not meet your mom's inspection, then you can use carb cleaner and plastic scrapers.

3) Normal. You want that area a little tight as it has to seal with the rings with the bolt. There will be a lot of friction (this is a good thing, means the rings are working), but as long as the bolt slides back and forth then you will be good to go.

4) I think you meant you pushed the chamber brush from the receiver end, and yes that is correct. The fit will sometimes be tight, this is normal. But if you had to use 2 hands to pull it out, you probably went too far in and it went past the chamber into the bore*.
*note: barrel = chamber + bore. barrel and bore is sometimes used interchangebly and this causes confusion sometimes.

You could also use a bore brush on the bolt if you really want to get it clean.

I pushed it in until the longer bristles were just past the feed ramps. It was in that maybe 1/2" section before it goes down to the size of the .223 casing.
