Got a new RRA Predator yesterday and the quality control was abysmal. The bead blasted barrel had scratches, the aluminum handguard was scratched and some areas were not fully anodized. The upper and lower had been hinged over at the front pin so that the upper handguard nut put dents in the lower. Anyway it went back to RRA. This gun should not have left the factory.

Dam that would blow chunks. But I am sure they will make it right, just how long will it take however? I have 4 RRAs and only one has had a problem and it occured the first timeout shooting. The ejection port cover spring was not manufacutred correctly and the little leg that rest against the reciever was REALLY short, like it will open 3 times and then pop around to make the ejection port cover free float. RRA said I could mail it back, I asked if it was alright for me to fix it since its a 9mm the rod can slip to the rear and it would take 2 minutes (have plenty of parts left over from previous ARs too so that helped). Got a free magazine, 20rd, in the mail a few days later saying sorry. Cant complain there. Come to think of it, I have never had "bad" AR service anywhere. I am sure your setup will work out alright.

Twodoghill, Sorry to hear you had some finish problems. Most places don't have any type of warranty on finish though, but if it's new and really bad, they may make an exception.

Obviously I'm not defending shoddy work from anyone but when you're talking about having dents in the lower, I'm wondering if someone had it open after it left the factory causing that? Or if it may had been dropped somewhere along the way

The handguard not being fully anodized can only lead back to RRA, but I guess my question is, why did you buy it if you didn't like it?

I just received my RRA Predator upper. It was in perfect condition and bolted to my Bushmaster lower like they were made for each other. Can't wait to hit the range.

I bought it because it was a special order I had been waiting 10 weeks for. I picked it up from the dealer in the box, took a peak in the box and it was wrapped from the factory in blue semi-transparent plastic wrap. I had been waiting 10 weeks for it to come in and didn't bother to unpack it at the dealer. I could tell it was mine, assumed it would be fine and took it home. Looked at it closely when I got home. Until then I had not inspected it carefully. My mistake, just assumed anything from RRA would be fine. It has to be under warrenty for the finish, it is new in the box and its obviously a factory defect. It came from the factory to the dealer, went in the dealer's safe and I opened it up. It was not assembled as shipped so dropping was not an issue. It was simply shoddy work. The dealer shipped it back to RRA.

I ordered a Fulton Arms FAR-15 Predator Varmint rifle with a Douglas Match Grade 24" SS .812" diameter 1x12 twist barrel today. I threw in an extended charging latch handle. I hemmed and hawed for days about placing the order. My two other choices were the RRA Varmint EOP and the Stag Arms Super Model 6 Predator. I'm glad, so far, I went that route after hearing this.

I paid $934.94 shipped including the extended charging handle latch with a $25 fee to my FFL for this rifle because they have free shipping for orders over $50 until May 31. It's 2-3 weeks out they say.

Here is what I got. I hope I'm happy with it but I suppose I can't say until it gets here.

Fulton ARmory FAR-15 Rifles and Uppers

Their barrel choices are much more extensive than what is advertised on their web page.

I know they don't come with a hard case and since Fulton Armory is in MD they can't sell 30 rounders but the build quality and accuracy is supposed to be phenominal. There are other little cheap things it doesn't have like ejector port cover, etc but they claim 1/2" MOA. I will be happy to add little things.

We'll see.

The ejector port cover, you won't be able to add that later because that upper doesn't have the tab's that hold the pin in place, and the 1:12 should handle the ligher varmint loads really well.

Douglass makes some AWESOME barrels. You'll be able to tell as soon as you get it that he doesn't skimp on quality. Congratulations.

2doghill, I'm glad that your dealer is helping you out on it. That's the right thing to do in this case. I'm sure that they'll get it taken care of for you. Please keep us updated.

To update all on this forum who said that RRA would make it right - you were right. Rock River basically sent me a new rifle. Took them about 2 weeks which is very fast. New barrel, handguard, and even a new lower receiver. It looks great this time. So keep that in mind when considering this company. They could have said that I damaged it but they chose to do the right thing. Two thumbs up for RRA.
