Colt may be the standard, but other AR vendors meets that standard IMO
*shrug* I prefer LMT or Noveske if I was a rich man.

I don't sell my guns so this does not bother me a bit.

Buy Colt if that is your thing - whatever makes you happy is what counts.

I have also read where some of the Colt parts arent as good as some others such as LMT, Noveske, RRA, Mega, CMMG etc.

Not Likely.

Then again I don't buy guns based on that. I have no intention of selling, but you never know what life will bring.

quick search found this this one for 1399:
GunBroker.com guns: COLT LE-6920 M4, N.I.B. (item: 91777357 ends: Feb-09-08 10:48:41 PM)

Think I paid around 1300 for mine.

Noveske and LMT are also top notch ARs. I think there is a Noveske in my future.

You can buy an LMT lower and upper and just put them togeather and be in the $900 range.

S&W M&P15 is an ecxellent value in a good AR.

Well I don't own SnapOn or DeWalt tools or much in the way of brand name items, but I do own 2 Colts. Can you buy cheaper AR's sure but they are cheaper in some way shape or form when comparing to Colt.

My 6920 was ~$1200 about 3 years ago, bought it right after the ban expired. Somewhere on the website is the "matrix" comparing the AR mfg's against each other you might want to look it up. Most people balk at it of course. If you cruz over to ARFCOM and search around they have the best AR listed, it's a Colt last time I looked.

If you are going to use it for weekend warrior any of the AR's will work. If your life depends on it the cost is mute, buy a Colt. In my experience, I have not seen a Colt fail other then a broken extractor. I have seen a lot of problems with other mfgs products.

Alaskapopo is a Colt armorer and member on the forum. If he drops in i'm sure he will comment more on the details. We went through a similar topic of Colt AR's last year.

The 6920's are hard to get you usually have to purchase online and ship to your FFL. The local gunstore said he can't get them & the distributor has a hard time getting them. My friend looked for one and finally bought one online for $1450 shipped. I'll ask him what the final number was.

There is a local shop here that has them in stock all the time. I think they are still $1499
