Aim Surplus and CMMG

So i am looking to buy an AR and ran across this upper on Aim Surplus's website.
AIM New Accessories New Accessories

CMMG-U1605 CMMG .223/5.56x45 AR15 Mid Length 16" Complete Upper Half

Item#CMMG-U1605
New CMMG .223/5.56x45 AR15 16" Barrel Complete Upper Half with Mid Length gas system. Featuring: T-marked, 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel receiver; Magnetic particle tested 1x7 twist, hard chrome plated barrel with recessed target crown; Anodized feed ramps; Shrouded firing pin; Proper front sight base with parkerizing underneath. This is a complete upper half less a rear sight, as pictured.

The price is 499.65 w/ $.01 shipping.

Do you all think these are the uppers they made for the bargain bin rifles or that they are an over production for some reason?
Are these a buy or not?
Thanks-

That looks like a good deal on a CMMG upper, wonder if they have them in stock. What the deal with the bargain bin rifles anyway, is there something wrong with them???

I wonder what contour barrel it comes with? CMMG sells there complete uppers for about 525-575 + shipping so this is a pretty good deal from AIM.

Is it cheaper because there is no bolt carrier or bolt? I didn't see it in the details.

No, they're just ones that have handled a lot at gun shows and show some handling marks.

The details do say "shrouded firing pin" so I'm assuming it brings everything.

I am almost positive that price includes bolt/bc/ch. I bought basically the same thing from a dealer for $510 shipped, except I have to wait 3-4 weeks to have it built.

I have done business with AIM a few times, and returned a product once that I screwed up and they replaced it. Sure it you are not happy they would make it right.
