NRA = 800lbs Gorilla
GOA = Zoo Chimp that slings a lot of Poo and screams until your ears hurt

There are a few others but those two are the largest I know of. The NRA-ILA grassroots organization is where you need to look to get involved and at least sign up for the news letter. That'll get you updates on major state legislation. The local ILA org. will have the details on the county and city stuff.

Yeah they ain't perfect, but it's one of several tools available to us. God I miss Mr. Heston!

They ain't perfect indeed. This NRA-ILA grassroots organization that one can supposedly get involved with is one of my BIGGEST problems with the NRA. I contacted them SIX (6!) times through email, snail-mail, and telephone trying to get involved with this supposed grassroots organization. I NEVER received any information about the organization, how I could help, what I could do, etc. Every time I tried, the same thing: "We will send the information out right away".

It's one "tool availible to us" that truly was NOT available to me no matter how hard I tried. Granted, I could have taken work off and drove to an NRA office and requested to join it in person and refuse to leave until they gave me information about a local group, but lets be realistic... six times is too many.

I implore you to try and join it. If you can, great. Maybe they were sending my info to the locals in charge of the group and they were lazy chumps who just liked holding the title. I'll never know.

Interesting point. And it's true. Oh, and don't forget Hawaii and Massachusets (my spelling sucks)

What is an assault weapon aside from a weapon that "looks" like a military style gun?

Assault weapon is a scary term adopted by the anti-gun left.
