Need a lower???

I just ordered one from AnvilArms
AnvilArms.com - Anvil Arms Guns and Parts

I've read alot about them on another forum and thought I would pass along the info. Hard to Beat $100.00 and $9.50 shipping.
I had one laser etched, it looks like this... Its going on my varmint upper.

They will engrave almost anything you want.
My upper is a DPMS Hi-rise upper or some refer to it as an EOP (elevated optical platform)
I bought the upper and barrel seperate and did a complete build. The barrel is a stainless/fluted 24" .204 Ruger. Freefloat tube I THINK is a RRA, not for sure, my wife bought it for me at Christmas.

Itchy,

I enjoy varminting too. Have you used the 204 a lot?

How does it compare to .223? Bullet drop, power, results, ammo availability and cost, etc.

Thanks in advance

Rogerxd, here's a link.

Barrel installation/swap is a snap as long as you have a vice, AR15 multitool (or called armorers tool) and a receiver block.

Here's a quick link explaining the process, though aren't as many steps if you're building. This link is mostly for swapping a handguard or barrel on an existing upper, but you'll get the point.

If you can screw a nut on a bolt, you can install or change a barrel

I have only fired 16 rounds through it as of yet. I do not reload for it as of yet but alot of folks are having great success with 35 grain burgers and Reloader 10x. Factor Hornady 32 grain bullets are doing 4200 fps and gives a flat enough trajectory that bullet drop is 13.1" at 400 yards!
barrel life seems to be great with this round and it seems to be as forgiving as the .308 for handloaders. The biggest advantage is trajectory and low recoil, you can see your hits in the scope. You can load down to 32 grain bullets for small critters and go up to a 40 grain pill for game up to coyote size. PM me if your heavy into varminting and I can point you towards a great forum with lots of hunting info and loading data. great folks there too, alot like XD Talk.

Barrel instal was so easy that a child could do it, its the lower that scares me...lol I just made sure all mating surfaces were completely clear of anything before I put it together and it was a cinche. Put the barrel into the reciever, screw on the barrel nut, instal the gas tube and gas block and then screw on the float tube. Its really about that easy.

I sighted it in using my RRA lower with a collapsable stock and got MOA or less groups. I cant wait to do it with a fixed stock on a calm day.

Yes they will do custom images, read this Laser Engraving FAQ

The engraving service is FREE if you buy the lower from them. How can you beat that?

dont you have to worry about head spacing?
ive installed a new gas tube and gas block on my ar and i also built the lower and i thought that was really easy. however i didnt put my free float on myself because i didnt have the right tools but if i did i dont think it would be a problem
