Magpul CTR stock issue

So i received a CTR in the mail today for my M4. I've read several reviews and articles on the CTR and was assured that there would be ZERO movement in the stock. It even states "ZERO MOVEMENT" in the Magpul instruction.

So the proper Mil-Spec stock is now installed on my M4 and there is a little wiggle front to back. It's not much at all, maybe a tenth or two tenths of an inch (so it's not a huge deal). However, paying $100 and expecting zero movement, now I'm a little disappointed. The friction lock doesn't do anything. With or without it depressed, the wiggle the same

Anyone else have a CTR that has a little wiggle? Or maybe i just need to get another one by sending this one back?

Mine has the slightest bit of wiggle as well. I had the same thoughts as you after installing it. That said, it was less than the old stock, it feels great, and it doesn't affect my shooting at all. If it's affecting your shooting, send it back.

It all depends on the receiver extension. One of mine locks up tight and the other has a very slight front to back movement as you described.

They might have gave you the commercial one by mistake. The commercial ones will actually fit on a milspec tube, but will have a lot of play.

My commercial one on a commercial tube, has some play in it, but it is really noticeable. My 2 milspec ones on mispec tubes, locks up tighter than the bolts on an F15.

I have both mil-spec and commercial models. Neither moves at all.

It's definitely not a commercial stock, it's a Milspec on a Milspec. Guess I'll have to call MagPul this week. What a bummer
