So where is it??? We're in Q.2 2008 and still no Masada/ACR. I figure most of you in here troll around on ARF.com and could get the latest scoop on what the heck is up w/ this one. I want a gas-piston AR and I think this is going to be the way I go. I've heard it's coming out only as 5.56 to start, but I have my fingers crossed for 5.45x39 still...

I don't run on arfcom. Don't like the atmosphere there.

But being a dealer, I got an email a while back from BM saying the latter part of spring, early summer release.

And you're correct on only offering the 5.56, but they also said they had no plans on any calibers besides the 5.56. Probably due to having so many pots in the fire now up to 50 BMG.

And the Bushada only available in black right now too, so if you're wanting a color besides black, you'd better get ready to break out the krylon.

It's the beginning of Q2 and there is still time left before the end of Q3. Over on M4C it sounds like other calibers are on the agenda but priority #1 is getting the 5.56 out to the public.

DOH! I was really looking forward to OD Green. Oh well, black is good too. Matches every other gun I own.

All you need is the new barrel to run the 7.62x39 correct. I've watched all the videos on it and the barrel comes out really easy. Would you need new mags also?

That's the "old" masada. Now that bushmaster is in charge, it's only scheduled for 5.56 so far... and as mentioned above, supposedly the other calibers are not cancelled as of yet, but are not a priority. I hope they follow through w/ at least 5.45x39. I couldn't care less about a 7.62x39 conversion though. I watched the video about the ACR from this years shot show and they changed how the barrel comes out (easier now) so I imagine they're still planning on making other calibres.

There will be one chambered for the 7.62 NATO. Magpul showed one off at the shotshow called the Massoud (named after the legandary Afgan guerrilla leader) but as to when it will be released there was no date. I too want a ACR in 5.56 but will wait until the first batch hits the market and tested by the "beta testing crowd" first.

Why wouldn't they make a bunch of calibers? All you have to do is pop out the barrel with that ratchet thing, and maybe mags right? Except the 7.62 NATO right? I think you need a different lower for that. I mean a bigger magwell.

So is this gun supposed to be THAT much better than a regular AR-15? I'm in the process of pricing out an AR build and was wondering if this gun would be worth the wait to get instead of an AR-15? When I saw it on future weapons it looked really cool
