Question How do you install a picaninny rail?
well i have my ar totally in pieces sitting on my lap right now...i have the handguard off and everything, which is a pain with no tools and by yourself, but now i have these bolts and stuff on my lap and i dont see how they work? can anyone help me real quick? anyone have pics or a good website to go to, thanks

What kind of rail?

Funny, I just got done pulling mine off to switch to a different gas block.

no its just a bolt on rail to bolt on the bottom of the handguard, do i have to take this heat shield off or something, i dont see how the bolts go that far they are tiny

Yeah, remove the heat shield, bolt on your rail, then replace the heat shield.

Otherwise you would need to drill holes through the heat shield, and you have already discovered the bolts are not long enough to do that; right?

how do you get the heat shield off, im trying to pop it out of there but its just bending the aluminum, thanks for your help AJ

actually got em from a guy on this forum, the ones on cheaper than dirt where out of stock, but the guy on here gave me a great deal and sent em right out to me. thanks for putting me on to that site, ill probably buy other stuff from them!!! great prices
