Bit by the bug

Ok, so I went to the range with a buddy to shoot my new XD. He brought along his AR. needless to say I'm hooked. I just bought a complete lower. I'm looking for a reasonably priced complete upper, can I get some suggestions for where to look?

The first question we are going to ask is what are you looking to do with the AR?

Did the lower you bought have an adjustable or fixed stock?

It didn't come with the stock, but I'm looking for an adjustable one. Mainly it will be for target practice. I'm thinking of an 18" barrel but for the price I may go to a 16". I'm trying to build this on a low budget, but I want quality. Tough to balance, I know.

Look for a used upper on the equipment exchange on AR15.com or go with a nice upper for a decent price like Del-Ton, Inc. AR-15 16" M4 Chrome Lined Barrel Assembly with M4 Handguards and Side Sling Adapter

If you are patient you can usually pickup some lightly used parts for a build.

As Terry said, there is no cure. The only solution is to embrace it, go to BRDA (black rifle disease anonymous) and buy as many as you can in as many different configurations as you can build.
