My new AR arrived and I have a question
Why do the military issue magazines I have seem really stiff and hard to get in and out while the magazine they sent with it is smooth and pops in and out no problem?

You didn't say what brand you bought. I have both Colt and Bushmaster ARs and all the magazines I have purchased work just fine in them.

tolerances vary and it sounds like you are going to try some of each to see what works best in your Oly.

I had problems with Center mags in my AR as well. They worked, but it took a good push to get 'em in and a tug to get 'em out. Buddy could used them in his bushmaster and they were perfect (So I made him a heck of a deal on 'em
