I can't take it anymore.
I keep seeing pictures of everyones amazing guns and I want one bad. I dont know crap about ARs i've been trying to read as much as I can. I don't care if its a kit or if I have to work up the knowledge to put it together I want one. I dont need all the fancy crap yet, I just want something I can put together and shoot. Any help at all would be great. I dont even know where to begin looking for parts, i've been looking at kits already at various places I see people post.

Slow down, take a deep breath, and figure out what type of AR you want.

Look at the major brand manufactures for a complete rifle and also the well known manufactures of lowers and uppers. If you want to build one, buy it piece by piece as you find a part thta you want. It also will spread out the cost if thats a concern for you.
If you do a search on here you will find lots of info on brands.

from what I've seen, piece by piece is actually more expensive vs rifle kit + stripped lower.
go to life liberty etc to see videos of how to assemble an AR

I've tried to look at as much as I can. I know I want something I can have fun with at the range and have in my house incase SHTF. So I know for now I dont need amazing ACOG scopes or the best of the best. I just dont know enough about them to be able to purchase peice by peice.

Take the easy route...
I was dieing to get an AR, but could not budget it. Go purchase a SIAGA 7.62 16". The SIAGA is a AK with the fire control mechs changed out to supposedly make it harder to take full auto. They are made in Russia by IZHMASH, who make the AK. I picked up one, brand new, at a local gun show for $249. I went to Siagastock.com and replaced the "hunting" stock with a Tapco stock. It's an AK dressed up to look like a hunting rifle, and I do use it to hunt. Before: ![]() After: ![]() Lots of guys will go through the effort to fully convert the piece to a "true AK", but candidly, I just want to shoot it and have some fun.... If you do convert, be careful re: US Parts content, but that's a whole 'nother story. Russian - American Armory Company Cannot find server - www.saigastock.comtapco stock with pistol grip, $99 If you're just looking for fun, AR....AK...

Figure out your budget and what gadgets you want. I swore I would have a basic AR but now I have a grip and the desire to get an EOTech.
