i buy Cproduct mags they are cheap and work fine i have about 20 30 round mags and about 10 20 round mags and have not had any problems out of any of them.
if one gets bent up then they are only like $10 and are considered to be USGI the upper receiver while depicted in the picture above is actually a complete upper the upper receiver is the portion of the upper that mates to the lower and all the other parts are attached to it. just the same a lower receiver is the bottom portion and it house the LPK (lower parts Kit) and the stock this is actually the only part of the rifle that is considered to be a gun and is required to be transfered Via a FFL all other parts can be shipped directly to your front door. being as your both new to ARs be sure to know what makes one legal and illegal both by BATFE and state laws each state may have different laws regarding AWS

I would recommend getting a completed upper, because if you build an upper you have to do headspacing and other things. Finishing a lower is actually quite easy. There is a video here:

metal ones can dented and the feeding can get affected depending how bad the dent is. Magpul polymers are $15 from some sites so theres not a whole lot of difference in price. Plus if an assaults weapon ban comes youll have a load of high capacity mags to feel good about
