DPMS vs. OLy.
I have an opportunity to do some trading for an AR one is a DPMS with a free floating picatiny foreguard the other is an OLy. arms both have detachable carry handles and colapsable stocks. Also both are new guns. This will be my first AR. Thanks for the info.

I do agree with mvician though, I'd go with a Stag, Bushy or RRA but out of the two? DPMS.

If it is between those two then I would say DPMS. I will also add that I have no experience with either, but I have heard better things about DPMS.

DPMS, for sure. I wouldn't buy one, but might trade for one. Wouldn't take an Oly as a gift!

Both are supposedly junk but I don't know how true that is. I have a buddy who gets good deals on DPMS and he has built and abused many rifles. I personally saw one of his DPMS going mag after mag of bump firing without issues.
To me all AR's are pretty much the same. Get it, abuse it, and if the bolt breaks, replace it with a quality one. |
