Building my first AR.

I want to build my very first Ar. I have never built a gun from scratch. I have some work on an Ak and SKS. So I believe I should be fine doing so. Any info that tells what you need? Any special tools? A parts list? I know nothing about Ars except that I want one. The fever has set in. Please Help.

Visit M4Carbine.net and AR15.com. All the info you could possibly need is on both those sites. Lots of technical info on AR15.com but I find the guys on M4Carbine to be very helpful and will help a lot as well. You can also check out GandRTactical for all your parts needs. Grant is an awesome guy to deal with and has great prices and knows what he's talking about.

God do your reading and come back and ask the questions that will spawn from that. We can (as noted in the above gratuitous advertisement for GT) point you towards known good vendors. Prices will vary amongst those vendors so you'll at least have some options on the new parts front, used parts and uppers are best found over at Barfcom, er AR15.COM
