The XCR takes AR 7.6x39 mags and not AK mags. Robinson was waiting on C-product to complete the completion of the mags and they now look like they are done. These mags will most likely also be used for SCARs, Masadas, and ARs with 7.62x39 caliber kits.

Here is what an AR looks like chambered in 7.62x39 with the new C-product AR type mags for 7.62x39 taken at SHOT and stolen off the XCR forums. C-Products says these mags will be available around April.

I was thinking the same. Just like AK's, I prefer the look of the 20 round mags. Also the 20 rounders would be easier to store in vest and ammo cans.
