Colt Serial Number question

I just recently purchased a Colt AR15 A3 from my local gun store. It was used but in very good condition. The serial number is LBD00XXX. On the other side it is stamped for Military or Law enforcement use only. How can I find out more about this serial number? If this has been covered in another thread...please point me to it. Thanks

I think you may have to go over to AR15.com to find out about your serial number; there are some guys over there that are pretty knowledgeable about that sort of thing. As far as the "military and LEO use only" stamping, I believe they put that on all their post-ban rifles. It's kind of like that same notice on my EOTech. What a joke! My wife enforces all the law around my house.

aw, I'm just full of it.

I have a 6721 upper on one of my builds that had the barrel cut back to 14.7 and I perm attached an A2 hider on it. It's one of my favorites.
