Realistically if you live in central to southern texas and use a 77 grain bullet, 1/7 or 1/9 twist out of a 20" or longer barrel, and use a scope and are a good shot its fine. I wouldn't do it, I was sitting back to back with someone who did, three shots and it stayed down, three is way too many!!!!!!!! However it was one in the shoulder, one in the hip and one in the backstrap. That being said when three of us go hog hunting, one takes a 22lR and I've dropped a 180 lb hog with it. One round to the heart does wonders. But over 100yds and thats evil, normally its just pushing it.
