AR-15 Colt LE Model

Alrite, this has been on my mind for a while and hopefully the AR aficionados out here can clear a few things up for me.

A year and a half ago I picked up an AR15 from a local shop. I wanted to get a Colt because someone told me that was what the US brand is. The only colt they had was an M4 style which was cool by me. However this model was the "LE" model and has something like "military use or export only" etched into the side of the lower.

The guy tried to jack up the price on it saying it was really rare or something. I ended up getting it, of course, for a few hundred cheaper than he asked but my question becomes: "Is there really anything special or collectible about this rifle?"

I have not done any mods to it rather than adding a C-more red dot sight for fear that it may lower the collectability/value of the weapon.

sounds like a Colt 6920, not really rare at all. Going rate for them now is between $1200-$1250

What he said...

But, if it is a Colt 6920, it is an awesome gun and will only go up in value IMO and be a good investment.

Sure sounds as though you have and LEO model,
possible select fire parts. Might suggest that you call
Colt for confirmation on S/N.

Pix would also be nice. Continued below.

None of those markings make it rare or anything.
That's just Colt covering the butts.
