My next purchase is an MI 10" FF.

I need to cut the delta ring, remove my FSP, and install a low profile gas block.

They also make a shorter carbine one or extended rail that allows you to keep the FSP if you like it.

I like the monolithic look with the flip up front and rears.

You can't get a cheaper FF that doesn't need you to remove the barrel.

SKD Tactical has the Midwest Industries carbine length free float handguard for $135. That's about $30 cheaper than anywhere I have found. I just got them a few days ago. They feel rock solid and look great. All you have to do is cut off the delta ring. It takes about 20 minutes.

yeah you should be fine the Delta ring comes off and so does the front plate that holds the drop ins in place the mounting nut should make it nearly flush with the upper receiver.

you will still need to remove the front sight post to install these after being mounted it should reinstall just in front of the rails.

looking at your barrel you may also need to remove the barrel if your flash hider is permanently attached as the front sight post will not slide over it. removing both of these are pretty easy you will just need barrel wrench and some roll pin punches

im going to go pick the rails up this evening after Church and i will drop them off in the mail to you first thing in the AM on my way to work.

hopefully you will have them by Wednesday or Thursday.

i think you will definitely like the way they look on the rifle. to me they also make the AR feel so much better in the hand. all you will need now is some rail covers i would suggest the ladder style by mag pul like mike has on his (at least i think they are mag puls) these are not necessary but help avoid snagging, and scraping of the hand

there is a whole thread about them on here
