well my plan was to buy two stag complete lowers from delton in november and the get two a4 RRA uppers for $455. was going to kepp them kiss rifles but im almost 100% sure im just going to get a complete LMT rifle . with the two stag-RRA around $1350 not includeing transfer fee and shipping etc the LMT will run me about 950 so i think ill go for quality over qauntity..

plus i have a bushmaster and a RRa anyway so why not get a corvette since ive already got two mustangs ..right??

The digs on Pete for not pushing LMT kinda bug me, but then again I'm pretty protective of the few folks I buy my stuff from. I've not asked Pete about what he's seen in the way of issues with LMT, but as stated before.. any mass production item is going to have issues at some point.. welcome to the fallible human existence.

LMT is by reputation rock solid. Never had one, not likely to. If you really want to get something that is going to be heads and heels above the rest you have to stop looking at LMT, Colt and such and start looking at White Oak, LaRue and some of the other semi-custom, hand fitted weapons. Other than going in that direction, As long as you are smart about which components you add and subtract the base models will do everything you need. These are rifles, not the friggen space shuttle.

Maybe I'm just not the gear snob I like to think I am.

With LMT, the ergo grip, solid LMT retractable stock, M4 feed ramp, MP barrel, and everything else that's done correctly all come standard; not "optional" or "upgrade" mumbo jumbo. That's a lot to be had for the price.

I say get the Stags... my DPMS is just as good as an LMT when i can't afford to shoot either due to ammo prices anymore seriously, can anyone even afford to truly wear out an AR anymore?

ok, off my box...

if you already have a Bushy and a RRA, go classy this time around, if you feel like it will truly be better

With Tier 1 companies (Colt LMT) You are buying extra quality control and a few features like MP tested bolts and barrels, M4 feed ramps 1/7 twist barrels, good steel ect. It is well worth the cost increase.

I reload and I shoot my AR's quite a bit in the summer. Not as much in the winter. Probably 1000 to 2000 rounds a month in the summer though. In the winter I shoot my RRA 9mm carbine more because I don't mind if I lose the brass with it so much and the longer parts of the range are hard to get to.

Also I hate DPMS. I have to work on the departments DPMS guns and they are a constant headach.

Some do some don't. Its just with DPMS they cut a lot of corners on the quality control testing so a lot more lemons get out. You could end up with a good gun but your chances of getting a lemon are a lot higher than say with Colt or LMT.
Not flaming you just sharing my opinion and experience in this area. Take care.

I have a full LMT and can't say enough good things about it. Took a urban rifle course with it and it shot 1200 rounds without a single problem. Great rifle.
