ACE SOCOM... light weight, tough as nails, ergonomically superior... but $$$, some day I'll have one.

MagPul says the M93B is discontinued. I have a green DPMS Pardus buttstock on my SBR build, but once it's all together I might switch it out for the CTR when I get it all done. I think the triangle profile balances well with the shorty barrels.

I've got a PRS, ACE SOCOM M4-L (not on anything so if you want to buy it off me Mr. Wolf, drop me a line ) 2 RRA 6 Position CAR stocks and a nasty assed Bushmaster 4 position CAR stock...

I've got one of the CAA's mounted and one waiting to mount and honestly it's a good upgrade for $20. Though I'll admit to eyeing the CTR's and UBR's.. just have better places to spend the money right now.

The Vltor Modstock -
has a nice saddled cheekrest but it is useless with ACOGs because ACOGs only have about 1.5-2" eye relief. Your cheeks will end up being on the tube anyways. If you are running Aimpoints or Eotechs then the Modstock is fine since these optics have unlimited eye relief and you can put your cheek wherever you want. Modstock looks cool and the compartments can hold lots of batteries.

Magpul CTR -
Another cool looking device. Like others have said it fits the tightest. Downside is it does not have any compartments. Upside is it has cheek riser options. You don't need the riser for AR's but you do need them on some other guns (FAL, M1A's), this buttstock is perfect for those guns. The CTR is longer than the modstock so it is a little bit better for ACOGs. For optics with say 3" of eye relief, the CTR is perfect as your whole cheek will actually be off the tube.

Standard M4 -
They use to look cool but now everyone has one so they are plain now. Some fit tight, some are really sloppy. Overall though, they do the job and you really don't need anything else.

Car stock -
Was at one time the only collapsable option you had. It worked but the M4 stock is better. Because of the Car stock compact size, it is harder to get a proper shoulder weld. It gets the job done.

I'm also a Magpul fan.

M93 (wouldn't trade it for any stock made to date)
CTR nice, but I still like the M93 better
PRS not really ideal for a CQB rifle, but for varminting and precision is sweet
Ace FX stock (I like the PRS better) but it is solid as a rock and comfy too. I don't think it's the most ideal for CQ stuff either, but is still good to go.

I just have my 6 position M4 with a CAA mounted on it.

Like others have said it is the best $20 option for a collapsable until you pick out one you like.

Cheers,
dont bother with that stock....ive had one. it is NOT light weight. its heavy as hell. not to mention, rotational forces are resisted by setscrews......and it is NOT a strong setup. the screws WILL gouge and let the stock rotate. ask me how i know

I'll echo the the negative on the M4 SOCOM......I've had 2, and sold them each time. They look cool, but that is about it. But then you may like it.
If you don't, they sell pretty fast

I had my SOCOM L on my long range rifle until I replaced it with the PRS.. can't say that it was a bad stock, it is damn sturdy, but then again it never went through any CQB stuff.
