Have you tried Hornady 12 ga. TAP's through it. I bet you'd get a better group @ 25 yards with them as I can get half of that from a Mossberg 18-1/2 barrel.

Though I prefer the blue hull (low recoil custom load) the red hull TAP's shoot just as well but with more recoil due to having more powder and followup shots are a bit slower.

Yes you will see the front sight tower thru the tube, depending on the mount the dot will "appear" to be on top of the front sight post (absolute) or a little bit above (lower 1/3).

That reticle looks like the Bushnell Trophy....not the SPOT. The SPOT is a single red dot.Also it is probably just the angle the pic was taken. From looking at the BT, it has a built in base that should raise it high enough to put the reticle even with the front sight post.
