Tru glo red dot Xtreme review
Well I finally was able to make it to the range today and shoot my M&P 15 with a Tru Glo red dot Xtreme I mounted on it.
The Good: When I first started shooting at 25 yards it was over cast and pretty dark I could see the recticle very well and had no troubles getting the rifle zeroed in and getting used to it. The rifle and the scope performed great. The Bad: As the cloud cover started to break up and the sun started coming out my Transition lenses in my glasses started to darken up alot. By this time I had moved to the 50 yard part of the range and I completely lost the recticle in the scope. I thought it was the battery so I put a new one in, but that wasn't it. I finished up and cleaned up my mess and went home by then my lenses where back to normal and I could also see the recticle. This scope would be great for low light shooting even out to 50 yards but when it gets brighter out my glasses started to compound the problem. If any one wants to get one they are a great scope but not if you are shooting in bright areas or wearing Transition lensed glasses. My .02 Saggin

Thanks for the review.....that's why I stick with Aimpoint or Eotech, never had them washout in bright sunlight.

Even with my AP ML3 if there is a lot of direct sunlight the dot diminishes pretty significantly. The EOTech on the other hand.. well that's a bright fuzzy bastard anyway you look at it

Would love to see some pics of TruGlo's sight, Saggin. Care to do the honors?

Gotta say I like the reticle a bit more than the solo dot in the AP. Though I'd love to see AP put out a T dot reticle or even the chevron like in the ACOG's.

How does this Tru-Glo compare to an EoTech site?

Doesn't.. doesn't even come close. It's far more in line with the AimPoints. OK the closest thing it relates to an EOTech with is a near similar reticle.
