Flash light mount

Anybody have an easy way to mount a SF flashlight to the front of my AR without getting a railed forend or using the Bayo lug? I have searched and searched, but nothing.

They have a mount that attaches to the front sight A frame.

ETA Yankee Hill (I believe) is the actual producer of the mount I mentioned. Other have duplicated it, though.

Surefire still makes the weaver ring and base that tightens onto the barrel and you can use the end cap or install a pressure switch. I have a couple of extra pressure pad switches if you need one. I think they are six inch. The cost is about $200 for the mount, light and switch from Surefire.

I highly recamend the 9 volt with 205 lumens lamp module, the P91. It's perfect for most situations and has plenty of output.

Ned Christiansen's ILM

Surefire Classic Universal Barrel Mount WeaponLight

CAA and Mesa makes cheaper ones, but I'd go with Ned's.

Well you can add a rail like these:

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/mountssi_biih.htm

Look at the top of that page

Then get a Viking or even CAA mount if you want and put it on that, or go with one of the FSP mounts that work fairly well. If you do the FSP mount, get a tape switch, other wise you're stuck with on or off setting or an incredibly bad grip.

Calvin at BrightFlashlights.com has a few G2 and G3's setup with options for the tail cap/tape switch and shock isolated bezels. The G2 is going to for the most part be more than enough for typical weapons light use, but hey if you want to drop $2-400 on a high end SF light, take pictures and let us know how you like it... I'll be sticking with my Calvin Specials and blinding bad guys when ever needed for under $100

You mention "blinding badguys." I'm curious what lumen level do you feel is required to do this. I have seen the G2's, (I think) and they're running like 65 lumens or something, right? I could be mistaken, but that seems to be not very bright. Thoughts?

I wouldn't want to be in pitch dark and have 65 lumens shined into my eyes if I were a BG.
