I have a G2 on my AR. It's 65 lumen. When the bulb burns out, I'll get the 100 lumen bulb upgrade.

65 lumens (6 volt or 2 Lithium batts) is plenty for indoors and for handgun light. If you move to the outdoors, I would definitely go up to the 9 volt lights with high output lamps. They don't last long at 20 minutes, but these are special situations. Illuminating a target at fifteen yards is well done with a 6volt, but at 100 yards into the woods or alleys, it won't do too much except illuminate your position. The 9 volt lights with 200 lumens or more can illum out to 250 yards. I really like the Surefire 500A or AB system as they offer the best switch options that are easy and ergonomic to use and the whole thing can be disabled or turned on without taking support hand off the weapon. They also have an LED which works well on a trail or minor light chores.
