eotech battery drain?

so lately i haven't been shooting black betty...i moved to a "big city" to go back to school, and just haven't had the time to take her out.

i was feeling a little nostalgic today, so i took the ar out to check function, lube, and such...went to turn on the eo, look through it, and nothing.

i know it's been off. at the very least, i may have put it away with the thing on, but they're supposed to shut off in 8 hours! so...is it possible that the thing drained the batteries in two months, just by sitting in the gun case? i know batteries weaken over time, but this is ridiculous!

needless to say, i took the eo off, and did not put new batteries in. if shtf, i'll rock the buis until i have time to mount the eo and put batteries in it...

anyone else have this issue?

My eotech 511 (n batts) would eat the batteries up. I've never had a problem with my 552 (AA batts). Its had the same batteries for 2 years.

the 511...n batteries. but i really didn't have it on for more than an hour since i put the new batteries in. unless there is some way that the foam in the case keeps turning the thing on?

I had a quick drain with the first set of AA, but not the second. Kind of weird..
