My Holosight uses the N batteries and eats them in 8 hrs or less The Radio shack n's are gone in 6. Thats why I took it off my shotgun, nothing worse than not getting a shot at a deer because your sight is dead.

EoTech battery drain
My 511 batteries died while in storage, too, so I got suspicious and hooked up a digital multimeter.
My EoTech 511 draws about .06 milliamps while supposedly turned "off". That is why it's killing batteries. If you want your EoTech batteries to last, remove them when you're not using it. |

You should remove batteries from ALL devices that are being stored for long periods. If they're alkaline, they could also leak and foul the terminals.

You can always buy lithium batteries...I throught some in my Eo.
