before this i only ever shot my pistols and for that a 25yd indoor range was perfectly fine, now that i am getting in to rifles i may actually splurge and join one of the outdoor private clubs.

i was just told today by one of the people i go to church with that there is an outdoor range about 40 miles from me thats is suppose to have a very nice facility, and has several different membership options. the kicker is the initial "Donation" its $100 donation to their land fund then its either $55 working membership or $90 for a non working membership. from there they had several other options for people who really wanted to have a say in what goes on but they were like $300.00 per year.

i am thinking about going out there an checking it out.

not that i am aware of i live in a pretty decent size town just ouside of OKC not a whole lot of places to go shoot outdoor without joining one of the private clubs, the closest place to where i live is the oklahoma city gun club. which i believe are a little steep especially as you must provide your own stands and targets

this is a little more than i am wanting to spend for the maybe 15 times per year that i would shoot

maybe after i get set up on reloading i could afford to do more shooting and it would worth it.

Range

Not sure if its an option there, but check with your local police or any FOP member. They use a range somewhere, and could be a cheap option. Even if you are not law enforcement, they offer what is called an "associate membership" (you just have to be sponsered by an "active member"). My Lodge here has a 50 lane range and my dues are $62 a year.

nope not yet, still havent forked over the money to the OKC gun club and the other is just two far away, i know i would rarely drive all the way out there so for now its either get in good with a guy from the okc gun club or continue to shoot indoors.

yeah i think i have it narrowed down to weak ammo or my weak as grip on the rifle. i changed ammo and still had a little bit of a problem but it seemed to disappear once i put the stock tight against my shoulder,

also no problems what so ever with 5.56 ammo either way but i got a much bigger flash which i could see as a potential problem shooting in low light conditions.

i have a G19c that is my CCW that i carry during the colder months that i had to get a standard G19 barrel for because it messed with my vision. i am told its caused by a bad astigmatism

im getting custom lasiks in january that should correct my astigmatism and hopefully fix that problem

ETA: ammo types used thus far in order of usage

.223 Aguilla 55gr
.223 HSM .55gr
Priv Par 5.56

I'm wondering if part of the issue might be a bad spring on the Bolt Hold Open lever..
